Books about the supernatural are fascinating to children; however, they contain dangers which often go unnoticed. Children who devour books about the supernatural, such as the Harry Potter books about witchcraft, often crave their own mystical experiences. The Harry Potter books teach many lessons that are problematic for Christians; foremost among them is the issue of magic. Harry Potter and his friends use magic to achieve their will; Christians know that it is not their will, but God's will, that should be done. Many children who read the Harry Potter books will want to become witches themselves, a practice that is condemned by the Bible.
