About the author: Ron K. Unz, a Silicon Valley businessman, is at the forefront of the movement called English for the Children, which aims to teach school children in English only. He launched, led, and financed Proposition 227, a ballot initiative approved by California voters in 1998 that sought to end bilingual education in schools. Since then, he has brought the campaign to other states, with the goal of dismantling bilingual education throughout the country.
