The Roman Catholic Church and the fundamentalist extreme-right wing of the Protestant Church have been among the most vocal opponents of ‘right to die’ groups. Using ‘God’ and the ‘Name of God’ as their invocation and justification, they pontificate about the sins of those who advocate the option of physician aid-in-dying for the terminally ill. As an ordained Christian minister I have come to the conclusion that these misguided zealots must be answered.
