Peter Francese
Peter Francese is the publisher of American Demographics magazine. In Part I of the following viewpoint, he argues that due to the rapid increase in the number of elderly, combined with possibly the lowest population growth rate in American history, America faces a labor shortage as well as higher taxes to cover the income security and medical costs of the nation’s aging population. Francese argues that the solution to these developments is increased immigration. He argues that higher levels of immigration would provide the workers and tax revenues the country will need in the future.
