Robert E. Bartholomew and George S. Howard

A study of alien abductees and contactees showed that while they were not mentally ill, a significant portion of them were identified as having fantasy—prone personality (FPP). The general population is largely free of FPP, which is defined as having a rich fantasy life as adults and being easily hypnotized or having psychic abilities, out—of—body experiences, or religious visions or other apparitions. Robert E. Bartholomew is a researcher in sociology at James Cook University of North Queensland, Australia. George S. Howard is a professor of psychology at the University of Notre Dame. They are the authors of UFOs and Alien Contact: Two Centuries of Mystery.
