A study of alien abductees and contactees showed that while they were not mentally ill, a significant portion of them were identified as having fantasy—prone personality (FPP). The general population is largely free of FPP, which is defined as having a rich fantasy life as adults and being easily hypnotized or having psychic abilities, out—of—body experiences, or religious visions or other apparitions.
