Chinese astronomer who created one of the first star catalogues. Wu Xien was one of three scholars, the other two being Gan De and Shih Shen, who independently created star catalogues or star maps in the fourth century B.C. Some 650 years later, Chen Zhuo (fl. c. A.D. 300) would combine these three in a single star map.
