Transversal is a computer science term that relates to the dissemination of information via computer networks such as the Internet. In a transversal information system, the transfer of information occurs between parties in more of a spider web pattern. This pattern contrasts to the radial pattern of information transfer, where information originates from a central point and radiates outward, through bureaucratic layers, for example.
Transversal dissemination of information can be a people-related process, not a machine dependent process. People communicate with other people, sharing ideas. Computers are merely the tools of information transmission. The information is also organic, capable of change and refinement as two-way communications continue.
