Chinese-born American mathematician who was awarded the 1995 Ruth Lyttle Satter Prize in Mathematics (a prize awarded every two years to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to mathematics research) for her contributions to the understanding of Riemannian manifolds, nonlinear partial differential equations, and isospectral geometry. Chang has served as an editor for leading mathematical journals and as vice-president of the American Mathematical Society.
