Chinese astronomer often credited with creating the first star catalog. In about 350 B.C. Shih Shen developed a map showing some 800 stars, and shortly thereafter Gan De (Kan Te) and Wu Xien (Wu Hsien) created their own star catalogues. More than six centuries later, Chen Zhuo (fl. c. A.D. 300) would bring togetherthese three catalogues in a single star map.
