1910-1960

Scottish mathematician. Macintyre won several scholarships at the University of Edinburgh, where she earned an M.A. with first class honors in mathematics and natural philosophy. She later married A. J. Macintyre, who lectured in mathematics at Aberdeen University, where she earned a doctorate in mathematics. Sheila Macintyre had an active academic career while raising several children and, in 1958, moved to the United States, where she and her husband taught at the University of Cincinnati until her untimely death from cancer in 1960.
