Roman governor of Britain water commissioner, and author of a book on the history and technical details of Rome's aqueducts. In A.D. 75. Frontinus succeeded Petillius Cerealis as Britain's governor. Approximately 22 years later, he was appointed superintendent of the aqueducts in Rome. His book De aquis urbis Romae (Concerning the waters of the city of rome) outlined the history and maintenance requirements of the aqueducts. He also wrote a book on the strategies of warfare titled Strategematicon libri iii.
