Roman scholar who researched the foremost authors of astrology and astronomy in the composition of his long poem "Astronomicon." As such, it is a compendium of ancient astrological and astronomical conceptions, with details including a discussion of the nature of the Milky Way. It was the first Roman work on the subject of astrology and was a popular focus of translation for astrological commentators late into the seventeenth century.
