Logo is a programming language designed as a tool for learning. Although written for educational purposes, the language can be used for a variety of activities, such as mathematics, music, telecommunications, and multimedia presentations. While Logo is considered simple and easy to use, there is no "ceiling," allowing users of any age to utilize the language to meet their increasingly advancing needs.
Developed by a team of scientists in the 1960's, the Logo language was originally created for Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc. Logo borrowed many aspects of contemporary Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) research. Logo is actually a dialect of Lisp, a common A.I. language.
