1915-
Canadian-American chemist who studied the mechanisms of electron transfer in metal complexes. Taube's work on the effects of charge transfer on chemical reactivity and the specific mechanisms underlying electron transfer reactions has been of great importance in understanding these fundamental issues in chemistry. In his long career, Taube's contributions have been amply recognized through a great many awards, including the 1983 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
