In 1966 movie audiences experienced a high tech medical approach to treating an injured man in the film Fantastic Voyage. The patient—an important scientist—is so severely injured that traditional medical methods cannot save him. So a team of doctors and scientists are shrunk to microscopic size and sent into the man's body to repair the damage. However, the team encounters unexpected danger when the scientist's immune system kicks in and tries to destroy the crew, thinking they represent a threat rather than a cure.
