Swedish hunter who explored portions of central and southern Africa both in the company of Francis Galton and alone. Andersson was primarily interested in traveling to South Africa to hunt big game and, hearing of Galton's upcoming journey, asked to join. When a local chief refused to let the party pass through his territory, Andersson continued on alone, eventually reaching his goal. He later died of dysentery and is buried in South Africa.
