Indian mathematician and astronomer who wrote a number of texts on topics relating to his two disciplines. His Mahabhaskariya concerns planetary longitudes and conjunctions, solar and lunar eclipses, risings, and settings, and the lunar crescent. Aryabhatiyabhasya (629) is a commentary on the Aryabhatiya of Aryabhata (476-550), of whom Bhaskara was a follower.
