American biologist who has collaborated with her husband, Paul Ehrlich, on human ecological policy research. They are best known for their efforts to focus public attention on the connection between human population, resource exploitation, and the environment. Their research has focused on deforestation, over-fishing, global warming, depletion of topsoil, groundwater, and clean air and other environmental issues. She has co-authored with her husband Extinction, The Stork and the Plow, and Betrayal of Science and Reason.
