Alcohol- and drug-free housing is for people who choose to live in an environment that is free of alcohol and/or drugs. Often, people who have recently left a rehabilitation facility will try to find alcohol- and drug-free housing to move into while they continue to work on remaining sober and free of drug use.

Alcohol- and drug-free housing units do not have structured meeting, therapy, or treatment programs. They are simply places where residents have agreed to follow three simple rules: (1) They must remain alcohol- and drug-free. (2) They must pay their rent on time. (3) They must abide by the landlord-tenant agreement.
