Science Why did friction make it so difficult for Newton to discover his first law of motion? Asked by Dr. John Carmen 12 years ago 1/3/2013 2:48 AM Last updated by anonymous 12 years ago 1/4/2013 10:45 PM
For the longest time friction would slow down, and then stop, objects that were in motion...making it seem as if 'resting' was its natural state.
