The Left Hand Rule is a memory aide that was developed for those working with direction of motion in an electric motor, or the direction of electric current in an electric generator. Each finger (thumb, index, third) represents a quantity (electric current, magnetic field and mechanical force). The right and left hand are used for generators and motors respectively. So, this could apply by thrust, field and current on each finger.
