Science Explain: Are quadruplets always identical or always fraternal, or can they be both? Asked by arwen46 12 years ago 1/27/2013 11:11 AM Last updated by anonymous 12 years ago 1/28/2013 9:14 PM
It could be either fraternal or paternal depending on how the division occured. If the zygote split into four separate parts, then they would be identical. If four different eggs were fertilized by four different sperm, then they would be fraternal.
