The unbalanced forces of a bowling ball striking the bowling pins IS the bowling ball. That is because the bowling pins show balanced forces until the ball, striking the pins produces kenetic energy that is greater than the forces holding the pins upright. Momentum moves things along and hopefully results in a strike.
