Light rays refelct off of an object and enter the eyes through the conrea. The image passes through the pupil, while the iris (colored portion of the eye) opens and closes mto regulate the amoutn of light that gets through. The light then goes through the lens and sends them to the retina at the back of the eye. Rods and cones are receptors for fine tuning the image that has been received. These cells convert the light into electrical impulses and the optic nerve sends those impulses to the brain where the image is reproduced.
