Describe the role of a project sponsor.

The project sponsor is the person who oversees that prject from its start to completion. The sponsor is responsible for appointing both the project manager and the team; for making decisions and resolving issues, and for identifying risk management. The sponsor is also responsible for promotion and accessing funds for the project itself.
