What is the conflict between Atticus and Alexandra in To Kill a Mockingbird?

In Chapter 14, Atticus and Aunt Alexandra have a huge disagreement about Cal's presence in the Finch home. Aunt Alexandra insisted that Calpurnia wasn't needed anymore, but Atticus refused to let her go because she was part of the family to him and his children.
