It was a unicameral legislature, there was no separation of powers The central government had almost no power, the states had all the power Congress did not have the power to tax Amendmants of the Articles required almost impossible unanimous approval of the states Major laws required approval by 9 of the 13 states Congress did not have the power to regulate commerce amongst states or internationally
