3x=87-8y

3x/3=87-8y/3

x=29-2.67y

4y + 6x = 66

4y + 6(29-2.67y) = 66

4y + 6(29) (6)(-2.67y) = 66

4y + 174 -16.02y = 66

174 -12.02y = 66

174 -12.02y-174 = 66-174

-12.02y=-108

-12.02y/-12.02=-108/-12.02

y=9

x=29-2.67y

x=29-2.67(9)

x=29-24=5
