5y+2x=12

5y-5y+2x=12-5y

2x=12-5y

2x/2=12-5y/2

x=6-2.5y

4y + 7x = 15

4y + 7(6-2.5y) = 15

4y + 7(6) (7)(-2.5y) = 15

4y + 42 -17.5y= 15

42 -13.5y= 15

42 -13.5y-42= 15-42

-13.5y=-27

-13.5y/-13.5=-27/-13.5

y=2

x=6-2.5y

x=6-2.5(2)

x=6-5=1
