5x-y=-10

5x-5x-y=-10-5x

-y=-10-5x

-y/-1=-10-5x/-1

y=10+5x

y + 2x = 24

10+5x + 2x = 24

10+ 7x = 24

10+ 7x-10 = 24-10

7x=14

7x/7=14/7

x=2

y=10+5x

y=10+5(2)

y=10+10=20
