- 4x + 4y = - 24

- 4x+4x + 4y = - 24+4x

4y = - 24+4x

4y/4 = - 24+4x /4

y=-6+x

- 4x - 4y = - 56

- 4x - 4(-6+x) = - 56

- 4x - 4(-6) (-4)(+x) = - 56

- 4x+24 -4x= - 56

24 -8x= - 56

24 -8x-24= - 56-24

-8x=-81

-8x/-8=-81/-8

x=10.1

y=-6+x

y=-6+10.1=4.1
