- 2x - 2y = - 36

- 2x+2x - 2y = - 36+2x

- 2y = - 36+2x

- 2y/-2 = - 36+2x/-2

y=18-x

4x - 2y = 24

4x - 2(18-x)= 24

4x - 2(18) (-2)(-x)= 24

4x-36+2x=24

6x-36=24

6x-36+36=24+36

6x=60

6x/6=60/6

x=10

y=18-x

y=18-10=8
