- 3x - y = - 12

- 3x - y +3x= - 12+3x

-y=- 12+3x

-y/-1=- 12/-1+3x/-1

y=12-3x

3x - y = - 6

3x - (12-3x) = - 6

3x - 12+3x = - 6

- 12+6x = - 6

- 12+6x+12 = - 6+12

6x=6

6x/6=6/6

x=1

y=12-3x

y=12-3(1)

y=12-3

y=9
