1x^2 - 13x + 40 = 0

(x )(x ) ( -8)( -5)=0

(x-8) (x-5) = 0

Check:

(x-8) (x-5) = 0

(x)(x) (x)(-5) (-8)(x) (-8)(-5)=0

x^2 -5x -8x +40=0

x^2 -13x +40=0
