- x - 2y = - 9

- x - 2y +2y= - 9+2y

-x= - 9+2y

-x/-1= - 9/-1+2y/-1

x=9-2y

4x + 2y = 0

4(9-2y)+2y=0

(4)(9) (4)(-2y)+2y=0

36-8y+2y=0

36-6y=0

36-6y-36=0-36

-6y=-36

-6y/-6=-36/-6

y=6

x=9-2y

x=9-2(6)

x=9-12

x=-3
