Why in the end did Mitch still buy some food to Morrie even though the professor could not eat any more?

Mitch brought the food because it had become a tradition.... and because he didn't want to acknowledge Morrie's decline. Morrie had never told Mitch that he was unable to eat the food he brought him, and Mitch wasn't about to embarrass him.
