why do you think Albert Dussel's polite exterior was not a genuine trait of his pesonality?in the novel 'the diary of a young girl'

In the story Diary of a Young Girl Albert Drussel seems to have to stop himself many times from reacting in an impolite way. This leads us to believe that he is trying to remain polite under the circumstances when he wanted to react differently.
