Zeno was a student of Parmenides in ancient Greece. He proposed paradoxes created to prove that motion was an illusion. An example of this can be found in the story of Achilles and the turtle. In the story, Achilles is unable to catch a turtle in a race, as the time it takes for Achilles to get to the turtle enables the turtle to move forward, while Achilles continued moving toward the turtle's position.
