Winston Wright is the director of the Museum of Natural History. Once a scientist, he is now more of a politician, and he is worried about how he will be remembered in museum history more than anything else. Wright rushes the Superstition Exhibition's opening because he believes it will bring infamy and money to the museum. He doesn't believe Pendergast when he says that people will be in danger if the opening goes as scheduled, and in the end, he realizes that Pendergast was right. Wright gets drunk while waiting for the creature to come get him, and he dies with Rickman in the storeroom behind his old office.
