William Smithback Jr. is the journalist hired by the Museum of Natural History to write a non-fiction book about their upcoming Superstition Exhibit. This book is meant to promote both the museum and the exhibit itself. Sadly, Smithback finds himself heavily censored by the museum's public relations director, Mrs. Rickman. He is annoyed with Rickman, and he often threatens to act in direct opposition to her orders.
