Wally Moon was one of the original enlisted men in the author's intelligence section. He is described as corpulent, eccentric and peculiar, and without social graces...... he is, however, very intelligent. Before the war, Moon was attending MIT. He wanted to be a physicist. He died in his foxhole during an artillery barrage.
