Uncle Hung was one of Andrew's mother's many brothers. Unlike the rest of the family, he made a last-minute decision to stay in Vietnam rather than escape. When Andrew visited Saigon on his trip, he shared a room with his uncle and often went out with him. Hung was made his living video taping weddings. He is described as a plump man, a heavy drinker, and a man who liked to laugh.
