Scottish nobleman, Thomas Cochrane, is the commander of the Chilean Navy. Once a British naval officer and member of parliament, he was removed from both the navy and Parliament..... disgraced by his own country. As a result, Cochrane sells his skills and experience to the Chilean rebels. He is described as a brilliant man, who thrives on the unexpected and responds in kind. The Spanish troops believe Cochrane is a demon..... that he cannot be killed. Cochrane loves the attention and uses it to his own benefit.
