In "The Dreamer," Hill makes up an idealized fisherman, named The Dreamer, who treats a fishing trip for Atlantic salmon like a religious pilgrimage. He takes care great and love with all of his fishing implements, and savors every moment up to and including the moment he catches a salmon. Having too great a respect for the fish, The Dreamer lets the salmon go.
