The demon is a servant of the Void. John Ross has been tracking him for quite sometime. His purpose in Hopewell is to jumpstart the devastation of the world. In Hopewell, he manages to convince Derry Howe to set a bomb at the Midwest Continential Steel Factory. He also convinces Danny Abbott to kidnap Nest, giving him a chance to kill Evelyn Freemark, his one time love. The demon had sex with Caitlin Freemark, Evelyn's daughter, to get back at Evelyn, resulting in their daughter, Nest. He tries to get Nest to come with him, but she refuses and the demon is destroyed.
