Talamir was an older Herald who served as Queen's Own for Selenay before Talia. Talamir was murdered and only appears in this story as the characters investigate his death. Although he loved Selenay and tried to serve her well, he was never able to reach across their age difference and achieve the same level of comfort the Queen has with Talia.
