Stubblefield owns the abandoned lodge where Luce lives. He is decribed as spoiled and wealthy. As a child, he spent most of his summers in the town where Luce lives, regularly indulged by his grandfather, who created a beach at the lake for swimming and allowed his grandson to use his car as a teenager. Stubblefield returns to his grandfather's home when he realizes the property is in trouble and plans to sell the lodge. What he doesn't plan on is falling in love with Luce.
