Soliman serves as Pauline Bonaparte's personal servant and masseuse while she is in the Caribbean. When Pauline's husband falls ill, Soliman uses voodoo practices to ward off plague. When she leaves, Soliman becomes a member of King Henri Christophe's court. He later escapes to Rome with the Queen and princesses after the King;s death.
