Prime Minister, Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965), was known primarily for his leadership of the United Kingdom during World War II. He was Britain's Prime Minister from 1940 to 1945, and one again from 1951 to 1955. Churchill's military career included service in India, as well as the Sudan. During the Second Boer War, he worked as a war correspondent, and he later authored several books about his military experiences. He served on the Western Front during World War I.
Over the years, Churchill held numerous political positions. These positions included First Lord of the Admiralty and Prime Minister, a role that afforded him unprecedented power.
