Shiloh Davidson served alongside the author in the intelligence section and appears to have been a close personal friend. Davidson attended Williams' University and came from a wealthy family. One night while he was on patrol, Davidson was shot several times and thrown into the barbed wire. The Japanese then illuminated his body with eerie green flares..... forcing his fellow soldiers to watch him as he writhed in pain, screaming...... hanging from the wire. The scene went on for several hours before Davidson finally died.
